Carrefour opens business school in Kenya

Start

Majid Al Futtaim, the operator of Carrefour in Kenya, has taken a deliberate step to nurture the next generation of retailers by opening its first business school in Nairobi.

Located at Two Rivers Mall, this initiative is set to upskill over 1,500 employees annually and aims to cultivate the next generation of retail leaders in the region.

The school will offer 12 specialized programs focusing on essential areas such as customer experience, leadership, technical operations, and digital transformation.

It will also integrate advanced technologies within the curriculum, including digital libraries and paperless classrooms, to prepare employees for the dynamic retail landscape.

“Our colleagues are at the heart of every exceptional experience we deliver to our customers. This investment underscores the critical role they play in driving our success and demonstrates our dedication to nurturing their skills and potential,” Gunther Helm, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said.

Helm added that the move reflects the company’s dedication to empowering talent and contributing to Kenya’s economic growth.

The development follows the success of similar schools in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, as Carrefour aligns its efforts with broader goals of driving social and economic transformation through sustainability and skill development.
