Kenya’s tech company, Ndovu Group, is expanding its product offerings with the launch of Angel HukApp, a dating app that connects people at a time when industry players are realigning themselves for a shift in the online dating environment.
Angel HukApp, like Tinder, is a cloud based mobile app that is accessible from anywhere as long as there is a smartphone or laptop connected to internet. As a cloud software, people simply need to create accounts with login passwords connected to the dating app’s online portal.
“Launching the app in Kenya comes in response to demand from our customers. The whole idea is to help people connect and meet. So, we are very excited to give people the opportunity to not only connect but also offer our products to investors within” MD and CEO of Ndovu Group Mr Fredrick Alunala, said.
He adds that dating apps have the potential to change how people interact, socialise and live. Angel HukApp, for example, works by capturing all user details such as age, reasons why one joined the app, location, and the goals they are focused on. The app is also able to show all matches generated against each user throughout the week or month giving users some form of clarity.
This digital dating app is live in more than 176 countries across the world and has developed valued relationships with thousands of daily active users. Angel HukApp was founded in 2024 and is one of the widely used social networking apps that has played a huge role in ensuring people can socialise and reignited relationships both locally and internationally.

About three months from the day it was unveiled (in October 2024), Angel HukApp made it onto Google Playstore. Mr. Alunala said the app, which currently enjoys a 5.1-star rating on Google Playstore, is one of many that will massively simplify online dating in Africa.
Today, it has seen over 1,500 downloads, with approximately 200 new “unique sign ups” every week. The app is envisioning to traverse across colleges and campuses in Kenya and Tanzania a strategic means of user onboarding similar to the Facebook growth story phenomenal in the year 2004. This will ensure over 3,000,000 users join the app between Q1 and Q2 of this year 2025.
The company is now in the process of offering users a chance to win fully paid vacation for the “match of the day”, a promotion that will enable users to win prizes. “Lucky ones will win fully paid holidays,” courtesy of “Africa Rhythm Safaris partnership, says Alunala.
The app has enhanced security including fake profile detection as well as in-app support to minimize the risk of scams.
Mr Raj Gaurav, the Chief Information Officer, at Ndovu Group, said: It was a lot of effort but all I can say for now is that this application has great potential. We are excited for what the future holds for us.”
