Westlands Member of Parliament (MP) Tim Wanyonyi has received a lot of praise from 200 pastors drawn from all African Divine Churches (ADC) clusters across Nairobi.
During a gathering at Westlands Primary School, the pastors, who are also members of the ADC Nairobi County Clergy CBO Group and a SACCO, stated that Wanyonyi is a transformative leader who has greatly enhanced the lives of Westlands people.
They acknowledged his track record of empowering communities, particularly the youth, and praised him for his commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable groups.
“You have come as Prophet Samuel to Jesse to anoint me for great things,” Wanyonyi said. “When I came to Westlands, I found bodaboda operators struggling with leased motorbikes. We put them in groups, bought motorbikes, and trained them. Today, many of them own multiple bikes and have increased disposable income.”

The MP also reaffirmed his intention to run for Nairobi governor in 2027, expressing confidence that he would secure the Orange Democratic Movement nomination and “ultimately win the general elections.”
“Leadership is an investment. You have invested in me from MCA to MP. I am now in a position to be governor—will you let me miss this opportunity? In 2022, I stepped down from the gubernatorial race, but this time, we will go all the way to the ballot,” he added.

He assured the pastors that his candidacy would be grounded in unity, with a focus on addressing the needs of all Nairobians, and promised a free and fair ODM nomination process, where he would defeat all contenders.
The pastors also conveyed their condolences to Wanyonyi following the recent passing of his mother, Mayi Anne Nanyama Wetangula and prayed for consolation at this trying time.
