The Nairobi Hospital Board has appointed Dr. Barcley Onyambu as its new Chairman, marking a fresh chapter in leadership focused on strengthening governance and ethical standards.

Dr Onyambu, who has been a Board member since 2024 and has chaired key committees, including Human Resources, Infrastructure, and Audit and Risk, will take over from former Chairman Chris M. N. Bichage

“The appointment reflects the Board’s commitment to continuous improvement and upholding the highest standards in healthcare delivery,” the medical facility said in statement issued on March 10, 2025.

He is a seasoned obstetrician and gynecologist, and holds a Masters in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has advanced training in healthcare management from Strathmore University.

“The Board extends its gratitude to the immediate former Chairman, Dr. Chris M. N. Bichage, PhD, for his dedicated service and leadership over the past year and a half,” the hospital said.
