President Ruto reshuffles Cabinet

President William Ruto has nominated Mutahi Kagwe, Lee Kinyanjui, and former Kiambu governor William Kabogo, to the Cabinet in a reshuffle that has seen former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary (CS) Dr Andrew Karanja and his ICT counterpart, Dr Margaret Nyambura, dropped.

The two dropped CSs have been nominated to the role of ambassadors, with Ms Ndungโ€™u being designated as a High Commissioner to Ghana, Ababu Namwamba as Permanent Representative of Kenya to UNEP and the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON).

Dorothy Angote is now High Commissioner to Zimbabwe, while Dr Andrew Karanja has been appointed Ambassador to Brazil. 

The reshuffle has also seen Sports CS Kipchumba Murkomen named to the position of Interior CS. Mr Murkomen has been transferred to the Ministry of Interior and National Administration thanks to the rise of Prof Kithure Kindiki to the position of Deputy President, with former Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs CS Mvuria Salim taking over the Ministry of Sports.

Mr Kagwe has been nominated as CS for Agriculture and Livestock Development, William Kabogo as CS for Information, Technology, and Digital Economy, Lee Kinyanjui as CS for Investment, Trade, and Industry, with Salim Mvurya being reassigned to CS for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports.
