Van Nistelrooy reveals style he will play at Leicester

Start

Ruud van Nistelrooy has vowed to bring excitement back to the King Power Stadium as he looks to transform Leicester.

Van Nistelrooy has said he will replicate the football played by Enzo Marescaโ€™s Leicester last season that led to their promotion to the Premier League. The Dutchman will try to rejuvenate the Foxes whose defensive style of play under Steve Cooper was unpopular with the fanbase, despite picking up a number of vital points. Having impressed in his interim spell in charge of Manchester United this month, Van Nistelrooy has been entrusted with guiding Leicester away from the relegation zone and to Premier League security.

There is a lot of work that needs to be done by Van Nistelrooy to turn a stale Leicester side into one that excites its fans. The new Foxes boss is less concerned however and believes the talent in the squad should be enough to provide attacking football, despite losing last season’s key man Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea. Van Nistelrooy aims to make an immediate and positive impact.

Speaking to the club’s social media team, Van Nistelrooy said: “If you look at the squad, there is some exciting talent in all lines of play; defence, midfield and attack. Of course, the excitement is there when you have the ball and create chances and you go for the win. In every game, that is the goal.”

Van Nistelrooy has a chance to bring back the excitement to Leicester when he takes his side to Brentford. Thomas Frankโ€™s side will be no easy challenge and if Leicester take anything from the Gtech Community Stadium, Van Nistelrooy can be pleased.
